So if 'Steam' can be controlled by keypresses, then you should be able to use Xpadder to allow your gamepad to 'send' those keypresses to any other program. I don't use 'Steam,' but basically Xpadder allows you to map gamepad controller presses to keystrokes. Thanks for the thought, but NO WAY will I EVER sign up for anything run by MS! And it's just for this one file, so seems a little overkill. No big big deal though for free and passwords can be changed later. It isnt the same as rapidshare, though and I believe they can see all the public files listed. You can upload it there as a public file and give the link to any of your friends to download it. They give you 5 gigs of online space for free. I'm wore out today.Īlmost forgot the main reason I posted, Temporarily till a spot is offered here, get a live account (hotmail) and get sign up for the sky drive. Starting to think Section 8 is another one, but I got from D2D so its no problem. There are a few games like Tomb Raider for example that a controller is needed. Hopefully this is what I have been looking for. I think Xfire has a basic one and there a couple of others I found, but nothing over rides steam. Other than at controller prices, I haven't looked real hard into programs that much. I have a Phillips Rumble Pad, but supposedly steam works ideally with the xbox 360 controller. I'm hopping it will override steams controller functions or I can just leave steams controller turned off and use this. Here is an alternative "clean" download links: PS: There are no links or other 'hints' on my site that the program is there: this is deliberate! I don't want my ISP suspending my site because it's gone into meltdown! So: please form an orderly queue and play nicely. I hope this will help others who are frustrated by Stephen's mentions of this program but are unable to download a copy. (Stephen: please send me a PM if you can do that, then I'll update this post: thanks in advance!) If he can, then I'll remove it from my site. I'm hoping that Stephen (hint, hint!) can take this and post it in the GOTD Freeware utilities. You can use this utility to add gamepad/other controller support to games which don't offer this support natively. In response to a request from Stephen 'Whiterabbit,' I've posted the installer for a freeware version of the Xpadder utility on my own Web site.
